Make Health Care Work for All of Us is a campaign to build support for transformative health care reform that will finally rein in the corporate power of big insurance, prescription drug corporations and monopoly hospital chains that price-gouge patients to inflate profits, putting health care out of reach for millions.

It's our government's responsibility to ensure that everyone in America can access quality, affordable health care when they need it—no matter where they live, what they look like or how much money they have.

Yes, despite progress in covering the uninsured and passing consumer protections that address the worst abuses, household health care costs continue to rise, the United States still spends more money than comparable countries to get worse health outcomes and Americans still lack a real guarantee of affordable care when they need it.

It's time to tackle the root causes of the American health care affordability and access crisis: prices and profits.

As long as for-profit corporations have unilateral control over prices, Americans will never see affordable costs.

While in other countries the government routinely sets prices across the health care system, U.S. health corporations can raise prices, build monopolies to squeeze out competitors, and bypass basic rules to boost their profits and enrich their shareholders anytime they want.

Because the federal government plays almost no role in regulating private insurance premiums or negotiating hospital pricing for people with commercial coverage, the corporations have unilateral control over our health care.

It doesn't have to be this way. The time is now to join the fight to finally make health care work for all of us.
